Getting started with workflows
Workflows let you automate responses and actions based on incoming messages or events.
How workflows work
A workflow consists of:
- Trigger — What starts the workflow (e.g. an incoming message containing a keyword)
- Conditions — Optional filters that determine if the workflow should continue (e.g. time of day, contact tag)
- Actions — What happens when the workflow runs (e.g. send a reply, add a tag, notify a user)
Creating a workflow
- Go to Workflows and click Create workflow
- Choose a trigger type (keyword, any message, or opt-out)
- Add conditions if needed (office hours, contact filters)
- Add one or more actions (send message, add tag, delay)
- Save and activate the workflow
Tips
- Only one workflow can match per incoming message — the first matching workflow wins
- Use the visual builder for complex multi-step flows
- Test workflows by sending yourself a message from a different number
